Students came to know the Evolution of Casting Technology.

Dr.V.Saravanan, Junior Vice President from Indoshell Cast PVT LTD, Coimbatore handled a Seminar for our Second Year Mechanical "A" and "B" section students under the title of "Advancement in Foundry Technology" on October 31st, 2022. He initially starts with the Foundry and said how our country had an important role in the view of casting in earlier period. He also made the students to realize that how we are expecting other country for casting an intricate product even we were expert in that area. He also shared his views how now a days Non-Destructive Technique is involved to detect the casting defects. He also revealed that, Ultrasonic testing and radiography testing and Magnetic particle testing are most widely applied NDT technique in Coimbatore Casting Industries. He explained how level of automation take a part in Casting Industry with Videos. Necessity of Automation programming in Casting Industry was also discussed. Software's required to complete the design and development of Casting patterns and Mould also discussed. Role of Computational Fluid Dynamics - CFD is also discussed by an expert how the mould flow takes place during casting.
