Dr. J. Indra received her Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Master’s Degree in VLSI Design from Anna University, Chennai and PhD in Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University, Chennai. She is University IV rank holder in her UG and Gold Medallist in PG. She is holding 20+ years of experience and currently working as Professor and Head in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore. She was previously associated with Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai for a period of 17 years. She has obtained AICTE ATAL FDP Grant of Rs.3.5 Lakhs, AICTE SPICES grant of Rs.1 Lakh, KEC SEED grant of Rs.1,30,000/- and TNSCST project fund of Rs.7,500/-. She has organized National level workshops and seminars funded by various government agencies like CSIR and ICT Academy of Tamilnadu. Also, she has offered various training programmes in the core areas like VLSI Design, Embedded Systems and IoT for the benefit of students, thereby helping them to get placement in core industries. She received Best Faculty Award from Kongu Engineering College in the year 2011 and Best HoD award in the year 2023 from KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore. She is a member in IEEE and a Life Member of International association of Engineers. Her research interests include VLSI Design, Energy Efficient Embedded Systems, Speech Signal Processing and IoT. She is recognized research supervisor under Anna University, Chennai and currently guiding 4 scholars. She has delivered various special lectures in the above areas to faculty and students outside.
