I am Dr. E. Ranjith Kumar, Professor and Head of the Department of Physics at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore. I have been associated with KPRIET since August 2020 and have been serving as Professor and Head since August 2024.
I have over 15 years of research experience, with my research interests focused on low-dimensional materials, metal oxides, magnetic materials, nanocomposites, and biomaterials for applications in energy storage, gas sensors, biosensors, antimicrobial and biomedical technologies. I have expertise in XRD and Rietveld refinement, FTIR spectroscopy, and advanced materials characterization.
I have published more than 175 research articles in reputed SCI-indexed international journals and have contributed to 4 patents. I also serve as a reviewer for several reputed journals and publishers, including Elsevier, Springer, ACS, RSC, ASP, and AIP.
My research contributions have been recognized through several awards and international recognitions, including being listed among the World’s Top 2% Scientists in the Stanford–Elsevier ranking for multiple years. I have also received the International Young Researcher Award, Best Young Researcher Award, Outstanding Reviewer Awards, and Best Researcher recognitions from KPRIET. I have served as an International Research Fellow at INTI International University, Malaysia, and am a member of the Einstein Research Academy.
Through my academic and research journey, I remain committed to advancing innovative materials research, developing application-oriented technologies, mentoring young researchers, and contributing to the growth of scientific research and higher education.
