On July 19, 2024, the KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology hosted an International Seminar on 'Scientific Working,' featuring Prof. Dr.-Ing. M.Sc. Thomas Carolus from the University of Siegen, Germany. The online event, conducted via Zoom, attracted a diverse audience of academics, industry professionals, and alumni, all eager to enhance their research skills and gain insights from a distinguished international scholar. Prof. Carolus, renowned for his expertise in fluid mechanics and turbomachinery, delivered a comprehensive presentation covering a wide array of essential research topics. These included initiating a research project, conducting a systematic research study, writing effective research proposals, and utilizing literature review techniques. He emphasized the importance of collaboration in research and provided guidance on navigating the publication process and understanding peer review. Prof. Carolus also addressed critical aspects of research ethics and offered strategies for effectively presenting research findings. Additionally, he explored the role of technology in research and highlighted higher study and research opportunities in Germany. The seminar offered valuable guidance on various facets of research, from planning and execution to ethical considerations and collaboration, significantly benefiting the attendees' academic and professional development and equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in their respective fields.
