Department of Civil Engineering in association with Indian Geotechnical Society organized an Industry expert lecture on "Effect of lateral spreading and tunneling on adjacent foundations" on 12.11.2024. Er. S. Shamsul Hudha, Registered Geotechnical Engineer, HFS Geotechnical and Engineering Consultants, Erode accepted our invitation to be the resource person and deliver the lecture for our students. Students gained deeper understanding about soil mechanics, types of foundations and their appropriate suitability in various construction projects. Er. Shamsul Hudha shared practical challenges and solutions in foundation design and construction, emphasizing real-world case studies. He also emphasized the importance of continuous learning and professional certifications in geotechnical and foundation engineering. Students actively engaged themselves during the Q&A session, where queries on specific challenges in foundation design were addressed with practical examples. Er. Hudha also provided advice on career pathways in civil and geotechnical engineering.
