INAUGURATION OF INTERNAL COMPLAINTS COMMITTEE AND AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON SEXUAL HARASSMENT , KPR Institute Engineering and Technology, Autonomous Engineering Institution, Coimbatore, India

This programme has been organized by Internal Complaints Committee, Student Affiars Sindhoora Juniors & Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) for all students and faculty members. The programme is started with KPR Anthem and Ms.S.Tharikha Sherine, 3rd Year ECE student have initiated the program with Tamil Thai Valthu.  Dr.D.Sharmila, CoE gave the welcome address with great introduction of this event. She has introduced all the members of ICC and inaugurated this cell with group photo. Further, Online Complaints management system I-Box has launched during this event and explained in details for audience by Ms.A.K.Shwetha, 3rd Year BME student.  Mr.V.Vigneshkumar, 3rd Year EEE student has presented the academic calendar of this year. Dr.D.Sharmila, CoE felicitated the chief guest with shawl and memento. Chief Guest Mrs. Latha Sundaram, Founder & Managing Trustee, Aram Foundation Charitable Trust, Coimbatore was addressed the students along with faculty members on sexual abuse, formation of Vishakha act and POSH cell. She has elaborately discussed about the sexual abuse and various acts for sexual harassment. The students raised their queries and it is well clarified by the resource person. This session was more useful for KPRIETians and created a very good awareness on sexual harassment. 350 students and 6 faculty members attended this event with effective manner. The vote of thanks given by Dr.M.Kalamani, Prof./ECE. Finally, the programme has ended with national anthem.
