The Department of Computer Science and Engineering conducted a workshop on "Building Scalable Web Automation Frameworks: Best Practices and Design Patterns" on 5th April 2025, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the II CSE A classroom. The session was led by Ms. Kavith K, Associate Automation Manager at Light & Wonder India Solutions Pvt. Ltd. The workshop aimed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry practices by aligning the concepts of Design and Analysis of Algorithms with the design of robust web automation frameworks. Ms. Kavith provided valuable insights into industry-standard design patterns such as the Page Object Model (POM), Factory Pattern, Singleton Pattern, and Strategy Pattern, which are essential for creating scalable and maintainable automation frameworks. Through live demonstrations and real-world examples, students were able to understand the significance of modular design, algorithmic efficiency, and scalability in test automation. The workshop emphasized the importance of selecting the right design approach and algorithm for optimal performance in software testing. Students actively participated in discussions and clarified their doubts, making the session highly interactive and informative. The session concluded with positive feedback from the participants, who found the workshop highly relevant and beneficial for both academic and professional development. Overall, the workshop successfully met its objective of enhancing students’ practical understanding of how algorithmic principles apply to automation framework design.
