The IEEE PES, in association with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, successfully conducted a workshop titled “Installation of Solar Panels and Inverters for Domestic Applications” on 12th May 2025. The objective of the workshop was to provide students with foundational and practical insights into the design, installation, and operation of solar photovoltaic systems for household applications.
Introduction to solar PV systems and components
Types of solar panels and their selection for domestic use
Inverter configurations and sizing
Installation practices and safety considerations
Case studies and real-time demonstration of domestic solar setups
Interactive Q&A session with the resource person
72 students from the EEE department, 02 industry participants and 10 external participants participated in the session. The event also witnessed the active involvement of faculty members and IEEE PES student members.
