SWATCH BHARATH (CLEANING CAMPAIGN), KPR Institute Engineering and Technology, Autonomous Engineering Institution, Coimbatore, India

KPRIET every year conduct mini marathon and this year it was organized on 04.12.2023. Mini marathon was open to all public and all can participate in the event. participant are categorized and based on the category the distance to complete was fixed. The main objective of the event is to create awareness on mental health and well being and also to address the inequality among the people. This year the complete event was planned to address the 17 goals of UN SDG. As a part of the event NSS, UBS and YRC volunteers along with the AO and maintenance team joined together with general public to clean the venues after the event. Around 150 students of NSS, UBA and YRC with 10 staff from AO team participated in the cleaning campaign after the mini marathon event gets over. As a part of the event the posters depicting 17 SDGs were given to the childrens during the run and awareness were given to the childrens on various SDG. Volunteers also deliberated the Swatch Bharat action plan of India and spread the importance of clean water and sanitation. After the event, the volunteers of NSS, UBA and YRC collected plastic waste at different venues (LPT, Tollgate and Karumathampatti near Kiskindha restaurant which were marked a starting for various categories). The collected waste materials were brought the campus and was properly recycled.
