The expert talk enhanced participants’ understanding of the applications and potential of nanomaterials in civil engineering, particularly in developing smart, sustainable, durable, and high-performance infrastructure. It provided insights into the use of nanomaterials for improving the strength, durability, microstructure, and functional performance of construction materials. The session also highlighted emerging applications such as nano-enhanced concrete, smart materials, protective coatings, and advanced infrastructure technologies. Participants gained awareness of the challenges and opportunities associated with the practical implementation of nanotechnology in construction.
