IDEATION TO IPR, KPR Institute Engineering and Technology, Autonomous Engineering Institution, Coimbatore, India

Department of Civil Engineering, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology conducted expert talk on “Ideation to IPR” on 22.02.2023. The main aim of this expert talk is to make the students to aware about the IPR and innovations. Dr.D.Balaji, Assistant professor (Sl.Gr.), KPRIET, Coimbatore gave a brief presentation on Innovation and IPR to M.E.Structural Engineering Students. He also discussed about Patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets uses and its advantages in various fields. Intellectual property (IP) is a term referring to a brand, invention, design or other kind of creation, which a person or business has legal rights over. Copyright refers to the rights granted to the creators or copyright holders of original works. He has also given awareness about WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) and the way the patent can be searched is discussed elaborately. Students actively participated and interated with the guest. Dr.D.Balaji interacted with the students and answered their questions. He has also discussed about journal / paper writing methodologies.
