Summary
Department of Civil Engineering and Industry Institute Partnership Cell of KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore organized a the Second Edition of Industry Conclave on 6th April 2023 at Raagam hall. Dr. G Anusha, Head of the department, welcomed the gathering and emphasized that such conclaves help academia to interact with experts from various industries to identify the needs and latest updates on front-end technologies. Dr. M. Akila, the Principal, highlighted the latest developments, potential demands and expectations in Construction Industry. Also, she appreciated the efforts taken by the Head of the department and members of the faculty for identifying the experts and making necessary arrangements. She requested the students to focus on studies and acquire more knowledge beyond the classroom. Mr. S. Yuvaraj, Faculty Coordinator of Industry Institute Partnership Cell for the Department of Civil Engineering, presented the yearly report of Industry- Institute activities for the academic year 2022-2023.  Mr. C. J. Raghunathan, Managing Director, Design Forum India Pvt. Ltd, indicated the necessity of having a strong collaboration between academia and industry. He requested the students to focus on developing their knowledge, skills, and attitude to sustain in any field of their interest in future. He pointed out that vocational skills are largely missing in Indian academia, which play a crucial role in making students develop practical knowledge and skills required to execute a task efficiently. At the same time, he made an appeal to all the students to develop interpersonal, problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and soft skills to be successful in their career. After that the Chief guest and Principal released the “Nan Poriyalan” video which was created by the students of Civil Engineering. 32 experts from various Industries participated and interacted with the students. The students made a constructive interaction with the experts. Further, the experts shared some of their rich professional and personal experiences with the participants. In addition, they stated that honesty and integrity were the cornerstones for anyone who aspire to become leaders.
