The programme was organized by Department of Civil Engineering in association with the ACCE(I) Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India), Coimbatore and (ACI) American Concrete Institute having Er. J. Premkumar Principal Consultant- INFINUSTECH, Chairman- Association of Consulting as resource person. He explained clearly about the recent technologies to be used in the construction industries in future with suitable case studies.
The latest technologies discussed by him included, As the world faces unprecedented challenges, including the need for sustainable infrastructure, civil engineers are being called upon to find new solutions to old problems. From smarter construction techniques to cutting-edge materials and innovative designs, the latest advances in civil engineering promise to transform the industry and help build a more resilient, efficient, and sustainable future. Drone Surveying, Self healing concrete, Thermal bridging, photovoltaic glaze, kinetic footfall, kinetic roads, 3D modelling, BIM, modular construction, asset mapping, IoT, solar roadways concepts, Transparent wood and sustainable construction for the future generations are the points discussed by the resource person. Also he throwed lights upon the importance of software usage in the field of construction. He suggested students to study civil engineering from the heart so that when they start their career it will be of great use of the knowledge obtained.
This event enhanced the knowledge of Civil Engineering students and will help to upgrade themselves. Resource person Er. Premkumar also clarified the doubts raised by the students and interacted with them. Totally 15 faculty members and 132 students attended and were benefitted from the programme.
