Report on the Inaugural Function of South Zonal Khelo India Wushu Women's League 2023-2024

The inaugural function of the South Zonal Khelo India Wushu Women's League 2023-2024 was held with great enthusiasm at the KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology on 18th January 2024 at 3:00 PM. The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, dignitaries, participants, and a vibrant crowd.
Welcome and Address:
The welcome address was delivered by Thiru. P. Johnson, General Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Wushu Association, in the presence of all the office bearers. He warmly welcomed the guests and participants to the green campus of KPR Institute and expressed his pride in hosting such a prestigious event.
Guest of Honour and Speeches:
The chief guest of the event was Thiru. K.P. Kanthasamy, M.L.A. (Sulur). In his inspiring speech, he emphasized the importance of martial arts like Wushu, particularly for women and children, for self-defense, discipline, and character development. He commended the organizers for their efforts in promoting Wushu and wished the players the very best for the league.
Other distinguished guests, including Thiru. K.S. Sathish, I.F.S., Regional Passport Officer, Coimbatore District, and Tmt. Niraimathi Chandra Mohan, Deputy Collector, Inspection Cell, Coimbatore, also addressed the gathering. They highlighted the benefits of sports in overall development, including physical fitness, mental well-being, and teamwork. They encouraged the participants to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship and give their best in the competition.

Dr. M. Ramasamy, Principal of KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, welcomed the guests and participants to the institute's green campus. He expressed his delight in hosting the inaugural function and reiterated the institute's commitment to promoting sports and extracurricular activities for the holistic development of its students.
Wushu Demonstration and Live Telecast:
The highlight of the event was a captivating Wushu demonstration presented by a select group of participants. They showcased their skills and precision in front of the guests and the enthusiastic crowd. The demonstration was a mesmerizing display of athleticism, agility, and grace, leaving the audience enthralled.
