Summary

On 27th and 28th February 2024, Department of Science and Humanities, organized National Science Day -24 in the first year block. A number of students from various classes participated in the exhibition. The science exhibition was held in honor of Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman. The chief guest for this exhibition was Mr. Sathish Kumar K, Senior Manager – Engineering, HIROTEC INDIA, Coimbatore and Mr. RAMARAJ N Head, STEAM Labs, GD Museums GD Naidu Charities, Cbe was the guest of honor for the event. Various events like Science and math quiz, paper presentation, project expo etc. were conducted for first year students. Preliminary selection was done on the 27 th February. On 28 th morning 10 am Science day celebration started with Welcome address by Dr. S. Saravanan, Principal, KPRIET. Dr. A M. Natarajan, Chief Executive and Dr. K. Ramaswamy, Secretory also were present for the inauguration. Followed by inauguration final evaluation of selected project, paper presentation and quiz were done. Models of solar power energy, space satellites, hydroelectric generators, AC and DC motors, automatic transformers, and robots were built by the students.

Chief Guest, guest of honor along with the Principal, CE and secretory went around looking at the different models designed by the students and assessed the descriptions given by the students. Apart from models, the students also organized visual presentations to help everyone understand the concepts of their working models. Chief Guest gave a speech on the importance of the contributions of the young generations to the field of science and technology. At the end of the exhibition, upon careful inspection of the different models and projects 5 best projects were selected and honored. Everyone who participated in the exhibition were given certificates and mementoes for their excellent efforts. The exhibition ended with the Dr. M.S Karthikeyan, HoD, Department of chemistry delivering a speech extending her gratitude to the guest and congratulating all the students who participated in the exhibition.
