The Department of Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS), KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, has organized the regional round hackathon 'HackFest'24' , in collaboration with SAP on April 25th and 26th, 2024 . The event got a impressive registration of 600+ teams from 75+ colleges from 14+ states. Totally 120 teams were shortlisted in the first round based on their abstract submission and idea presentation through online mode. The Second round was conducted on April 25th and 26th in KPRIET campus for the shortlisted 120 teams in offline. The Teams were asked to present their idea before the industry Juries from MNC’s like Zoho, Thoughtworks, IBM, CTS, Amazon, Infosys, Ford Business Systems. Finally the top ten teams were selected for the final round to be conducted by SAP at PSGiTech in near future. Among the Top ten teams, the PSG College of Technology secured first place, winning a cash prize of 15,000 rupees, followed by Sri Eshwar College of Engineering in second place with a prize of 10,000 rupees, and KPR Institute of Engineering claiming third place with a prize of 5,000 rupees. The event showcased technical progress, cultural integration, and innovative solutions, making it a grand success.
Hackfest '24 was a two-day national-level hackathon organized by the Department of Computer Science and Business Systems at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology in collaboration with SAP Lab India Pvt. Ltd. The event witnessed participation from over 75 colleges across India, with more than 600 teams registering for the competition.
Participation and Rounds:
First Round: Out of the 600+ registered teams, around 130 teams were selected for the first round.
Final Round: 500 participants competed in the final round held at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Day 1 (25th April 2024):
The day commenced with the presentations from the final round participants.
This was followed by a keynote session from SAP, providing insights into the latest technological advancements and their applications in industry.
Day 2 (26th April 2024):
The day started with continued presentations.
A keynote session from SAP was conducted, offering valuable knowledge to the participants.
The event also featured cultural performances by the Sangamam Dance Club and the Music Club, adding a vibrant touch to the proceedings.
In the afternoon, the top 15 teams were selected for the regional round.
The top 3 teams were awarded cash prizes:
1st Prize: ₹15,000 - PSG Tech
2nd Prize: ₹10,000 - Sri Eshwar College of Engineering
3rd Prize: ₹5,000 - KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology
Special Mentions:
The event was executed flawlessly with the active involvement of student volunteers from the 1st and 2nd year CSBS.
The collaboration with SAP India Pvt. Ltd. played a significant role in the success of the event.
