HANDS-ON SESSION ON TEST AUTMATION , KPR Institute Engineering and Technology, Autonomous Engineering Institution, Coimbatore, India

2. Demonstrate the Automated Software Testing Tools
3. Write automated functional tests for both front-end and back-end code

Mr. B. Anish Christober, Quality Engineer, Rently soft ware development, Coimbatore was the resource person for the session. Mr. B. Anish Christober is an alumni of 2016 - 20 batch, got placed in Rently through on campus as a Quaity Engineer. He works on automated software testing tools.
He started the session with giving an introduction to the software testing and the categories of software testing ( manual and automated testing), he also elaborated on the testing life cycle and the tools that are used for the automated software testing. The advantage and the disadvantages of the manual and the automated testing tools were also discussed during his presentation. Insight on the opportunities for the test engineers was also deliberated to the students. Difference between verification and validation was also discussed with a case study.
Resource person has taken a case study and demonstrated the Test Automation using the tool selenium. The case study is to automate the student portal ( login ) of KPRIET where the students see their results and pay fee through the portal. The tools that are used for the demonstration are Eclipse, Selenium and JDK. The tools were pre installed for the session. Students followed the step in automating the login of the KPRIET student portal. The hands - on session was an eye opening session on software testing and automation of testing. Students could able to understand and follow the step in creating an automation for his/her login page.
