Ms. Heena Firdaus, Data Analyst, Accenture Solutions Pvt Ltd, India gave her valuable knowledge and experience in data science. This guest lecture is an eye-opener for all students and faculty who are undergoing machine learning projects or similar and require datasets from known repositories available online. The session highlights the various steps to be undergone for data preparation involving data cleaning without which the algorithms will not be able to provide accurate results.

Data science combines math and statistics, specialized programming, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning with specific subject matter expertise to uncover actionable insights hidden in an organization’s data. These insights can be used to guide decision-making and strategic planning. This guest lecture is an eye-opener for all students and faculty who are undergoing machine learning projects or similar and require datasets from known repositories available online. A data set is a collection of related, discrete items of related data that may be accessed individually or in combination or managed as a whole entity. A data set is organized into some type of data structure. she elaborates on Data cleaning is the process of fixing or removing incorrect, corrupted, incorrectly formatted, duplicate, or incomplete data within a dataset. When combining multiple data sources, there are many opportunities for data to be duplicated or mislabeled. The session highlights the various steps to be undergone for data preparation involving data cleaning without which the algorithms will not be able to provide accurate results. At the end of the session, students and faculty personally interacted with Ms. Heena Firdaus, Data Analyst, Accenture Solutions Pvt Ltd, India regarding her company projects and our mini-projects to which she cleared every doubt patiently.
