Summary

The Department of Civil Engineering in association with ICI Student Chapter organised a hands-on session on structural analysis using ETABS software on October 9, 2023, as part of the Smart Construction webinar series conducted for final year students. The session was led by Er. S Sabarishkumar, Managing Director of SK Structural Firm.

The session began with an overview of ETABS software and its applications in structural engineering. Er. Sabarishkumar then demonstrated how to use ETABS software to model, load, and analyze a simple building structure. Participants then had the opportunity to practice using ETABS software on their own laptops.

The session was well-received by participants, who appreciated the opportunity to learn from an experienced expert and gain hands-on experience with ETABS software. By the end of the session, participants were able to:

  • Understand the basics of structural analysis and design.

  • Use ETABS software to model, load, and analyze building structures.
