Students pursuing their Japanese language through the Centre of Foreign Languages (CFL) were given exposure to the following:

·        Deepened understanding and appreciation for Japanese language nuances and cultural intricacies.

·        Established lasting connections among participants, fostering ongoing support and guidance.

·        Created an immersive environment for cultural exchange and sensitivity.

Summary

Career Advancement Cell (CAC) & Centre for Foreign Languages (CFL) organised Interaction Series: Harmony in Language and Culture as an exposure for students who have enrolled for the Japanese language. The session was graced by the presence of Ms. Mami Teraoka, Researcher/Adviser, Culture & Information, Consulate-General of Japan. Ms. Teraoka discussed on the upcoming expo to promote Japanese culture through various culture-related events to spread awareness. The Principal discussed on the opportunity to connect and network with Japanese-based firms that provide internship opportunities in Japan for the students. Later, Ms. Teraoka interacted with the Japanese Language students. The students presented about the events they have participated in and conducted during the academic year, their interests and future aspirations in pursuing the Japanese language and building a career in Japan. The Chief Guest gave her insights to the students and appreciated their efforts to learn and speak Japanese. The students requested that the Consulate support them in hosting a Japanese Culture-related event in Coimbatore, Ms. Teraoka appreciated their eagerness towards doing such events and was grateful to them.

 

After the interaction with the students, Ms. Teraoka visited the new Robotics and Automation laboratory which was inaugurated by the Consul General of Japan Embassy, Chennai and the L&T Experience Engineering Laboratory which is a space dedicated by L&T for the students. Ms. Teraoka expressed her appreciation of the lush green campus and the facilities available on the campus.
