GUEST LECTURE ON CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT, KPR Institute Engineering and Technology, Autonomous Engineering Institution, Coimbatore, India

A Guest Lecture on Construction Project Management helps students to develop the skills required to take up all the onsite responsibilities of a construction project.

A Guest Lecture titled on "Construction Project Management" was organised by the Department of Civil Engineering, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore on 24.08.2022 at Thanam Hall.
Dr.G.Anusha, Head of the department welcomed the gathering and emphasized the importance of this guest lecture.
Resource Person Dr.S.Jayachandran, Vice President, Marudham Group addressed the gathering on various Job opportunities in Construction Project Management sector. And He explained about them to the various roles of a construction project manager with real time case studies.
In his presentation he addressed about all the major facets of construction Project management including Project initiation and planning, scheduling techniques, organizing methods, controlling process and Resource allocation. Later on he discussed about the software tools involved in construction scheduling process and the importance of using the software tools for the accurate estimation of all kind of resources for a project. Uses of Software tools like Primavera and MS Project in construction planning and scheduling process also explained to the students.
Finally he discussed about various risk involved in construction projects and emphasized the importance of quality and safety in construction projects. Network diagram techniques like Critical Path Method (CPM) and Project Evaluation and Review Techniques (PERT) also discussed by the students during the questionnaire session.

The session was very clear, informative and useful for all the budding Civil engineering professionals for their careers. More than 70 students from final year Civil Engineering attended the programme and benefited.
