The speaker, Smt. Nalini Jayaprakash, Principal of the Amrit Centre for Special Needs in Coimbatore, shared her extensive experience and insights on special needs education. Smt. Nalini, known for her dedication to enhancing the lives of children with special needs, spoke on the theme "Special Needs for Disabled Children." Her presentation commenced around 10 a.m. and lasted till 12.15 p.m. She covered several essential topics, starting with training methods designed to empower children with special needs by helping them develop critical life skills, independence, and confidence. She emphasised the importance of using assisting devices for the specific needs of each child, from basic aids to devices that support communication and mobility, enabling them to participate more fully in daily life. In addition to discussing technical devices, Smt. Nalini spoke on effective care techniques, offering advice on strategies for caring for children with different abilities to promote both their physical and emotional well-being. A particular focus was placed on encouraging physical activities that help children with special needs develop self-sufficiency and improve their overall health. Smt.
