Department of Civil Engineering has organized an One day Civil Engineer's Technical Updation Programme in association with Coimbatore Builders and Contractors Association (CEBACA) and Kovai Kulangal on the topic “Climate Changes and its impact in Construction Sector” on November 29th, 2024.
Dr. S. R. Ramanan, Ex-Director, Cyclone Warning Centre, Regional Metrological Centre, Chennai acted as the resource person for the session. Around 25 practicing engineers from 11 different industries along with our students of Civil Engineering department partipated in the session. Dr. Ramanan highlighted the causes and consequences of climate change, emphasizing the urgent need for sustainable practices and collaborative action. Participants were left with a deeper understanding of climate change and its multi-faceted impact and many expressed a renewed commitment to adopting sustainable practices.
