Introduction:
The inaugural ceremony of ACS KPRIET International Student Chapter was successfully held on 24/02/2025 at Veena Hall, KPRIET. The event was attended by distinguished guests, faculty members, students, and other stakeholders. This student chapter aims to provide students with a platform to enhance their skills, connect with industry experts, and engage in various educational and extracurricular activities.
Guest Speakers:
Three esteemed guests were invited to speak about the significance of the student chapter and its potential benefits for the students during the inauguration ceremony:
Ms. Aparna Sharma - Program Manager, Global Strategy for Society Programs, American Chemical Society: The first speaker discussed the importance of student chapters in fostering leadership skills and providing students with a direct connection to their future career fields. She emphasized how student chapters can create networking opportunities with professionals, enabling students to gain firsthand industry insights. She further stressed that involvement in such a chapter not only enhances academic knowledge but also equips students with the essential skills needed to excel in their careers.
Mr. Sujan Sekhar - New Business Development Manager, ACS Publications, India: The second speaker focused on the long-term impact of student chapters on personal development. He spoke about the benefits of collaborative learning, teamwork, and the exposure students would receive through workshops, seminars, and industry interactions organized by the chapter. He highlighted that the student chapter would provide an invaluable platform for students to engage in community service and leadership roles, shaping them into well-rounded individuals.
Mr. Christy Lucos John - Business Manager, Balani Infotech Pvt Ltd: The final guest shared insights on the relevance of student chapters in today’s rapidly evolving professional landscape. He discussed how the chapter could act as a bridge between academic learning and the industry, offering students a competitive edge by providing them with real-world experiences. He encouraged students to take full advantage of the resources available through the chapter and become active participants in its development.
Student Chapter Unveiling:
The official unveiling of ACS KPRIET International Student Chapter took place. The certificate unveiling ceremony was conducted by the guest speakers, marking the formal beginning of the chapter's activities.
The Office Bearers of the Student Chapter were introduced, and they were presented an appointment letter and a badge by the guest speakers, faculty advisor and the head of the department of Chemical Engineering.
