The Department of Civil Engineering, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore has connected the one credit course on "Drone Survey” on 20th & 21st October 2022 at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore. The course is handled by Er. S Aravind - Managing Director, Land Point Surveyors and Engineers, Coimbatore.
The main objective of the course is to learn the basic components that are prevailing in the Drone. The course also includes practical training for students to operate drones for collecting and processing data. On 20th October, Er. S Aravind conducted a lecture class to the students about the basic concepts, accessories, and working principles of drone surveying. He explained the operational procedure, pre & post-process after drone surveying with a video demonstration. The process of collecting the raw image, processing the image into the required data for mapping was broadly explained. He gave an overview on the need and various uses of drone surveying. On 21st October, he took the students to the field for hands-on training on the drone, he clarified how the data are collected and processed with a live demonstration in the field. He also handed the instruments to the students and make them practice and collect the data and process it and ask them to give the final mapped output.
