1. Introduction
The Department of Information Technology, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, organized a three-day hands-on training program titled “Cloud & Virtualization Fundamentals: A Practical Lab Approach for Future-Ready Engineers” on 29th October, 31st October, and 1st November 2025.The training sessions were conducted by Mr.Mohanraj from Atomcode, Coimbatore, focusing primarily on the practical implementation of Amazon Web Services (AWS). A total of 56 final-year students participated actively throughout the program.
2. Objectives of the Program
· To provide practical exposure to cloud computing and virtualization technologies.
· To familiarize students with AWS cloud services through real-time exercises.
· To develop cloud deployment and security configuration skills.
· To enhance students’ industry readiness in cloud-related job roles.
· To bridge the gap between theoretical learning and industrial cloud practices.
3. Topics Covered
· Introduction to Cloud Computing & Virtualization
· AWS Account Setup and IAM Configuration
· EC2 Instance Creation, Configuration, and Monitoring
· Storage Services: S3 Buckets, EBS Volumes, Backup and Restore
· Security Groups, Key Pair Authentication & Access Control
· Hosting Web Applications on AWS
· Hands-on Lab Sessions on Cloud Resource Allocation & Cost Optimization
4. Technical Outcomes
· Ability to configure and manage AWS EC2 virtual machines.
· Practical exposure to cloud storage services and data backup mechanisms.
· Familiarity with IAM policies, role-based access, and cloud security settings.
· Capability to deploy and monitor cloud applications with hands-on proficiency.

6. Student Feedback

The three-day training program significantly enhanced the students’ technical expertise and hands-on proficiency in cloud computing. Participants gained real-world experience in AWS deployment, virtual machine management, and cloud security implementations. The program successfully bridged the gap between academic concepts and industrial cloud practices, thereby improving students’ employability and industry readiness
