The Techno Design Challenge – “Design-A-Thon”, organized in collaboration with EKKI Water Technologies, provided students with a valuable hands-on learning experience in 3D modelling and product design using SolidWorks and Fusion 360. The Pump Assembly Challenge enabled participants to transform given component dimensions into individual 3D models and assemble them into a complete functional pump.
Key outcomes of the event:
Enhanced students’ practical skills in SolidWorks and Fusion 360 for 3D modelling and product design.
Provided hands-on exposure to pump components, assembly, and mechanical product development.
Improved students’ ability to interpret technical dimensions/datasheets and convert them into accurate CAD models.

The event successfully provided students with practical exposure to industry-relevant CAD tools and pump design, enabling them to apply their engineering knowledge to a real-world product assembly challenge while enhancing their technical and problem-solving competencies.
