Awareness on role of Biomedical Engineer in Hospitals

An alumni interaction program exclusively for the II & III BME students to understand the nature of the biomedical engineering job at a hospital. The resource person is Mr A.K. Ashok, an alumnus of the Biomedical Engineering department, batch 2017-2021. Mr A.K. Ashok is currently working as a Biomedical Engineer at GKNM Hospital, Coimbatore. He on Saturday 21/01/2323 is addressing the students of the Biomedical Engineering department. He is expected to share his experience, especially the satisfaction of the job as a biomedical engineer. 
The speaker, Mr.Ashok AK, Alumni of 2017-2021 batch introduced himself as the Biomedical Engineer of GKNM Hospital, Coimbatore.
He addressed the students on his experience of being a Biomedical Engineer in a hospital. He shared the important aspects of the job. Starting from the regular calls up until the closure, he shared all the experiences. He further shared a personal experience on how a biomedical engineering skill on medical equipment’s troubleshooting saved a child that was fighting for its life alongside the ventilator. With a unknown reason the machine malfunctioned and the doctors and other healthcare personnels nearby stood shocked without knowing what to do, however, he arrived at the scene and understood the behaviors of the machine and made couple of tweaking here and there and made the machine run like a normal machine breathing in fresh air of life unto the patient.
His experience at various time motivated the students and attracted most of them towards the core medical equipment related opportunities.
The session was ended with a vote of thanks and based on the participants feedback the session was very interactive.
