SEMINAR ON INDUSTRIAL MATHEMATICS, KPR Institute Engineering and Technology, Autonomous Engineering Institution, Coimbatore, India

A Seminar on Industrial Mathematics was conducted in the Department of Mathematics, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology on 28 January 2023. Dr. N. Raja, Coordinator of the seminar welcomed the participants with short introduction of Industrial Mathematics. Industrial mathematics is a well-established field within the mathematical sciences community. Modern manufacturing and service industries have changed drastically in modern times due to the explosion in the knowledge economy. Fast and inexpensive computing, office products, the development and utilization of large databases, have necessitated sophisticated methods to meet new demands. Industrial mathematics is the enabling factor in realizing and implementing these methods. We welcome all the engineers to the wonderful event on Industrial Mathematics. The first session was handled by Prof. Hiroshi Yamaguchi, Energy conversion research centre, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dhoshisha University, Kyoto, Japan. He explained the convection of magnetic fluids and the solution methods for associated partial differential equations. At endd of his talk partcipants have asked their doubts and the speaker explains in more clear way. Prof. Ardak Kashkynbayev, Department of Mathematics, Nazarbayev University, Nur Sultan city, Kazakhstan was taken the second session. He gave a talk on mathematical biology and he explains spreading mechanism of virus through mathematical modelling. At the end of second session participants raised their queries and got them cleared. Then the general discussion about how to produce the quality publications in applied Mathematics. Both the resource persons have shared their thoughts and their inputs was informative. Finally, the seminar on Industrial Mathematics was come to an end.
