The KPR Trophy Inter-School Championship 2026–2027 is a prestigious annual sporting event organized by the Department of Physical Education, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, to foster a spirit of sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and healthy competition among school students. The championship provides a valuable platform for young athletes to demonstrate their talents, enhance their competitive skills, and build meaningful friendships through sports.
The championship will be conducted in two phases:
Phase I: 20th & 21st August 2026
Phase II: 29th August 2026
The tournament will feature competitions in Basketball, Football, Handball, Throwball, Volleyball, Badminton, and Chess for boys and girls across various age categories. The event is expected to attract approximately 50 schools from the Coimbatore, Erode, and Tiruppur districts, with around 150 teams and nearly 1,500 student athletes participating.
By organizing this championship, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology aims to encourage school students to actively engage in sports, promote physical fitness, identify emerging sporting talent, and strengthen the culture of excellence in school sports. The event also reflects the institution's commitment to nurturing holistic development by balancing academic achievement with sporting excellence.
