Description

EEE FRONTIERS – Distinguished Lecture Series

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is organizing EEE FRONTIERS – Distinguished Lecture Series, an expert-led academic and professional interaction focused on the rapidly evolving field of Electric Mobility.

As the global transportation sector moves towards electrification, electric vehicles, intelligent charging infrastructure, renewable energy integration, advanced power electronics, energy storage systems, and smart mobility solutions are becoming increasingly important. The transition towards electric mobility is creating new opportunities for technological innovation, interdisciplinary research, entrepreneurship, and employment across the electrical, electronics, automotive, energy, and transportation sectors.

As part of the lecture series, Dr. C. Bharatiraja, M.E., Ph.D., PDF (USA and ZA), Centre Head – Centre for Electric Mobility (CEM) and Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, has been invited as the Resource Person for an expert lecture titled:

“Electric Mobility 2030: Emerging Technologies, Research Trends, Skills and Career Opportunities”

The lecture will provide participants with an overview of the future of electric mobility and the technological developments expected towards 2030. The session will explore emerging developments in electric vehicle technologies, battery systems, charging infrastructure, power electronic converters, renewable energy integration, smart charging, vehicle-to-grid technologies, intelligent transportation systems, and other enabling technologies shaping the electric mobility ecosystem.

The session will also provide valuable insights into current and emerging research directions in electric mobility. Participants will gain an understanding of potential research areas, interdisciplinary opportunities, technological challenges, and the role of innovation in addressing the energy and transportation requirements of the future.

A major focus of the lecture will be on skills and career opportunities in the electric mobility sector. The session will help students and research scholars understand the technical competencies required for careers and higher studies in areas such as electric vehicle design, battery management systems, power electronics, charging infrastructure, renewable energy systems, embedded systems, control systems, artificial intelligence, energy management, and smart mobility.

The interaction is intended to bridge the gap between classroom learning, research, industry requirements, and emerging technological trends. It will provide students, faculty members, and research scholars with an opportunity to interact with an accomplished academic and domain expert and gain insights into the evolving requirements of the electric mobility industry and research ecosystem.

The lecture will also encourage participants to identify future research problems, develop industry-relevant technical skills, explore interdisciplinary collaboration, and understand the professional opportunities emerging from the global transition towards sustainable transportation.
