The Centre for Research and Development, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, organized an expert talk on "From Microcontrollers to Smart Factories: Industry 4.0 in Action" on 05.10.2026 (Monday) from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM at the III Year EEE Lecture Hall, Bhaskara Block. The resource person was Mr. Yogeswaran Muralidharan, Managing Director, YM Automation Private Limited, Coimbatore.
The session traced how embedded systems and microcontroller-based control have evolved into the automation backbone of modern smart factories. It covered Industry 4.0 concepts and their practical industrial applications, and gave students and faculty exposure to current industry practices and real-world automation scenarios. The talk helped connect classroom fundamentals of microcontrollers and control systems with what industry actually expects.
