Transportation: Calculate emissions from your car, flights, public transport, etc. You can use online calculators provided by transportation companies or environmental organizations. They usually ask for information like distance traveled, vehicle type, fuel consumption, etc.
Home Energy Use: Estimate emissions from electricity, heating, and cooling. Check your utility bills for usage data or use online calculators provided by energy companies.
Food Consumption: Consider emissions from food production, transportation, and disposal. Red meat and dairy tend to have higher emissions compared to plant-based foods. There are online calculators specifically for food emissions.
Waste Generation: Estimate emissions from waste disposal. This includes methane emissions from landfills. You can approximate this based on your waste production and local waste management practices.
Shopping Habits: Consider emissions from the production, transportation, and disposal of goods you purchase. This can be more challenging to estimate but try to consider the carbon intensity of products and how often you buy new items.
Other Activities: Include emissions from other activities such as recreational activities, water usage, etc.
