Lean construction is critically important in civil engineering due to its emphasis on efficiency, waste reduction and continuous improvement. Department of Civil Engineering in association with Institute of Lean Construction Excellence organised a workshop for student and industry persons on the occasion of Industry Conclave 2024 on the topic 'Importance of lean construction in Civil Engineering'.
Resource person for the workshop was Dr. K. Marimuthu, Technical Secretary, ILCE Chennai. He elaborated the importance of becoming a member to students, industry personnel in ILCE.
He also deliberated the objectives of ILCE to the students. Objectives are as follows:
