Department of Civil Engineering in association with IEEE SIGHT and IEEE GRSS organized an expert talk regarding the career opportunities for the students of core engineering branches. Captain D. Senthilkumar accepted our invitation to be the resource person for the event on 08.11.2024. Captain Senthilkumar shared his inspiring journey from an engineering graduate to a senior officer in the Indian Navy. He discussed the role of core engineering expertise in the armed forces, emphasizing problem-solving, leadership and innovation. He highlighted various entry points for engineers into the Indian Navy, Army, and Air Force, including the Short Service Commission and Permanent Commission.
The session was a resounding success, with over 150 students from core enginering disciplines. Key outcomes included:
