Field Visit - Padmavahini Transformers, KPR Institute Engineering and Technology, Autonomous Engineering Institution, Coimbatore, India

As part of the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) regular activities, the PES student members and Advisors undertook a field visit to Padmavahini Transformers Private Limited, Coimbatore, on 18.08.2026. During the visit, the members gained valuable practical exposure to the various stages involved in power transformer manufacturing, including the assembly process, component integration, quality inspection, and testing procedures. The visit also provided an opportunity to understand the testing and quality assurance practices followed in the transformer industry. The interaction with industry professionals helped the members bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and industrial practices and enhanced their understanding of power transformer manufacturing, testing, safety, and quality standards.
