The Mechanical Engineering Association, Department of Mechanical Engineering, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, organized an Expert Talk on “AI Application in Mechanical Field” on 19 August 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the III ME Lecture Hall, Bhaskara Block. The session was delivered by Dr. K. Vishnu Kumar, Professor, Computer Science.
The expert talk aimed to introduce students to the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in mechanical engineering and allied industries. The session focused on practical applications of AI in areas such as design and optimization, predictive maintenance, manufacturing, robotics, automation, simulation, quality control, and data-driven engineering. The speaker also highlighted how AI-based tools can enhance engineering decision-making, improve productivity, reduce operational costs, and support innovation.
