As part of the U21GEX07 Vertical Transportation Systems course designed by KONE Elevators, Chennai, an expert talk on “Hoisting and Cars in Elevators” was organized at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology. The session was delivered by Mr. C.V.S. Sashikanth, Deputy General Manager, KONE Elevators India Private Limited, Chennai, a distinguished industry expert with extensive knowledge in elevator engineering and vertical mobility systems.
During the session, the resource person provided valuable insights into the fundamental principles and practical aspects of elevator hoisting systems, including traction mechanisms, ropes, counterweights, machine components, and safety features. He also elaborated on elevator car design, structural considerations, passenger comfort, safety regulations, and advancements in modern elevator technologies.
