The Mechanical Engineering Association of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, organized an Expert Talk on “AI Application in Mechanical Field” on 19 August 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the III ME Lecture Hall, Bhaskara Block. The session was organized to create awareness among students about the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in mechanical engineering and its emerging industrial applications.
The programme commenced with a welcome address delivered by Dr. N. Udhayakumar, who warmly welcomed the resource person, faculty members, and students. Ms. Mirthika served as the Emcee and coordinated the programme proceedings effectively.
The expert session was delivered by Dr. K. Vishnu Kumar, Professor, Department of Computer Science, who provided valuable insights into the applications of AI in mechanical engineering. The session highlighted the potential of AI in areas such as design and optimization, predictive maintenance, manufacturing, robotics, automation, simulation, quality control, and data-driven decision-making. The interaction helped students understand how AI and mechanical engineering can be integrated to address real-world engineering challenges and improve industrial productivity.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Swetha, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, management, faculty members, organizers, and students for their valuable participation and support.
