The workshop on Introduction to Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) enabled students to understand the fundamental principles of CFD and its applications in mechanical engineering. Students gained knowledge of governing equations, basic modelling concepts, meshing techniques, and the selection of appropriate boundary conditions for fluid flow simulations. They also developed an understanding of flow visualization and result analysis to interpret fluid flow behaviour and evaluate engineering problems using CFD tools.
Key Student Outcomes:
Understand the fundamental principles of CFD and its applications in engineering.
Explain the governing equations of fluid flow and basic CFD modelling concepts.
Identify suitable meshing techniques for different fluid flow problems.
Understand the selection and application of appropriate boundary conditions.
Interpret flow visualization results and analyse fluid flow characteristics using CFD software.
